This Monday I'm featuring the first single off DJ-producer extraordinaire Mark Ronson's upcoming album, Record Collection. The brother of Lindsay Lohan's former? beau, DJ Samantha Ronson, Mark made a name for himself as one of the most creative and innovative producers in the music industry. Things came full circle for him in 2008 when he won three Grammy Awards for his collaboration with Amy Winehouse. In addition to his production work Mark started his own record label, Allido Records, and signed one of my favorite hip-hop artists, Wale from the District of Columbia.
Mark recently disclosed the name of his new band, Mark Ronson & The Business INTL, and hopes to release Record Collection sometime in September, 2010. "Bang Bang Bang" is the first single off the album and featured the vocal talents of MNDR and Q-Tip. The music video has a retro feel and is strangely reminiscent of Star Wars movie complete with a flying keyboard emerging from an exploding clock eerily like the Millennium Falcon emerging from the exploding Death Star. Hope you enjoy the song and video, complete with Mark's best McEnroe impression at the end of the video. Have a happy Music Monday!
