Two fatty broiled salmon necks with a slice of lemon for $4.99 from Dainobu, a Japanese grocery store in midtown. I also got a couple of soft-shell crab rice balls. Murray the cat loved the fattiest bits off the bone.

(There are better pictures of him, I swear).

hit up ennju near union square after 9pm for their half-price specials (half off everything in the refrigerated cases) and they usually have enormous containers of teriyaki salmon neck that are usually $4.99, a deal in and of itself, cut down to $2.50. you get about 3-4 huge pieces. bangin.
ReplyDeletedainobu is bangin' tho. hit up onya a couple stores down; esp. for their $1 tempura over their noodles.
Thanks for the recs, I will check out ennju for sure... that's a ridiculously good deal for salmon necks.
ReplyDeleteI really like Onya, great udon noodles. I go to there a lot since I live so close by. I will have to do a full review soon.
Dainobu is always good for rice balls or something else in a pinch, but if I'm really craving that stuff I usually head over to Zaiya.
